In the heart of Texas

The Memories Mall on the road

Just prior to the launch of this site we set up at Granny McCormick's Yard in Warrenton, TX for the Texas Antique Weekend. We thought we'd share some of the photos we took at this mammoth event.

Boerne Merchants Association

Our regular trips to Boerne Market Days have been great fun and we've made some good friends.

Thanksgiving in Boerne

Burnet Texas Chamber of Commerce

The good people at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce host the Annual Bluebonnet Festival in April and RailFair in June each year, along with other events. Although the weather doesn't always cooperate, Tammy Stephens is always around to make sure we're doing OK.

Tisket A TasketWe'd like to thank Cindy and Fred Cates of Tisket A Tasket for hosting us at Rockdale Market Days. Four times a year we join the people of Milam County for food and fun. Cindy's shop is full of wonderful decorative items and the fudge is great. Give her a call at 512-446-0649.
Seguin's Main Street Program sponsors Market Days the last Saturday of March, April, Septermber and October each year. It's a great way to spend the day shopping, sampling the food and listening to live music.

Blanco County CourthouseThe small town of Blanco, Texas has done a terrific job of refurbishing the historic courthouse. The Old Blanco County Courthouse Preservation Society uses the vendor fees from the monthly market days to fund the restoration. Although the county seat has moved, this structure has a special meaning to the people of Blanco.

Mustang Owners Club of AustinAs members of the Mustang Owners Club of Austin we miss out on far too many club events, but we make it a point to attend the annual Mustang Round Up. In 2005 we were able to get a few photos at the 25th Annual Event.

2006 Cruise 'n' Blues FestivalThe first annual Cruise 'n' Blues Festival, sponsored by the Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods was held in October of 2004. The volunteers overcame 3 inches of rain and high winds the night before the event to make it a great success. Every year the live music and dozens of street rods, hot rods and classic cars make for a great family outing. Check out the photos from the 2006 Cruise N Blues Festival.

Cruisin' Classics Car Club of Austin, TXThe members of the Cruisin' Classics Car Club of Austin have been the driving force behind several open car shows over the past few years, including the Samuels Jewelers show. In 2007 they started a new event, hosted at hot rod dealer Automania, that had a good turnout for a first run.

Here are photos of the cars on display and the many contestants at the first of what we hope will be an annual event.

Fredericksburg Trade DaysSeveral times over last 2 years, Sue and I set up at Fredericksburg Trade Days. For a relaxed atmosphere you can't beat Trade Days. Visit the Biergarten for a cool refreshment while you shop.
Gillespie County FairIn August 2003, The Memories Mall went to the Gillespie County Fair. There's a lot to see and do at the fair, horse racing, good food, carnival rides and plenty of bargains from the many vendors.
In 2004 we joined our friends in Round Rock for the 40th anniversary of Frontier Days on July 3rd & 4th. Food, fun and fireworks at Old Settlers Park on Hwy 79. Go see what all the "Yeehaws!" are all about at Texas' best old west celebration.
Come and Take ItFor a little Texas history mixed in with the food and entertainment, you can't beat the Come and Take It Festival in Gonzales.
Saxet Gun ShowsThroughout the year we'll be setting up at the Saxet Gun Show in Austin. This two day event draws hunters and collectors from all over Saxet, er.. I mean Texas.

South Texas Car Club2005 started of with a weekend of good people and great cars at the South Texas Car Clubs Annual Custom Car and Truck Show. Events like this make going to work a real pleasure. View the photos of some really nice rides.

The 2006 STCC car show was a good way to start the new year. I saw friends from last year and met some new people. All in all, I can't think of a better way to spend the weekend.

Memorial Day 2006 saw another great show by the folks from STCC. This event was held at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio and brought out well over 100 cars of all types.

Luckenbach, TexasLast year we headed out to famed Luckenbach, Texas for a "Rockin Car Show". It's a great setting and there was a good turn out of street rods, hot rods, muscle cars and motorcycles.

The 2006 Luckenbach Car Show began with a few hours of rain, but several great cars, trucks and motorcycles turned out anyway.

2006 Texas Corvette Association Open Car ShowOur first visit to the 2006 Texas Corvette Assocation Open Car Show will certainly not be our last. More good people and horsepower than you can shake a stick at.

We can't wait for next year's show!

2006 Key to the Hills Rod RunOne of the best annual events for street rods in the US is the Key to the Hills Rod Run in Boerne, Texas. The Pride of Texas Street Rods club hosts this 3 day gathering that brings people from all over the country. Check out a few of the 500 cars from the 2006 rod run.
Stay tuned, we may be headed your way soon.
