Hunting and
fishing in America were originally just a means of putting food
on the table. With the industrial revolution hunting and fishing
became hobbies for people including many U.S. Presidents like Teddy
Roosevelt. Depicting these activities in advertising for products
was a popular way to get noticed as with the Red Rock Cola sign.
Although the
Pony Express preceded the 20th Century, the spirit of adventure
it portrayed is part of our passion for recreation, the outdoors
and our western heritage.
