Motorcycle Metal Signs

Before the automobile ruled the road, motorcycles were an extremely popular means of transportation. They were less expensive and would go places autos couldn't. Early in the 20th century there were few paved roads and the motorcycle could cover the most rugged terrain.

Indian Motorcycles were the first made in the US but it didn't take long before the competition came along. Harley Davidson and Indian, along with others, battled it out for decades. Our collectible metal signs recall the long history of the steel stallions.

During WWII the military ordered thousands of bikes, some of which never saw service. Returning GI's purchased many of the surplus motorcycles beginning the modern love affair with motorcycles. Today's female riders should tip their bandanas to Betty Boop, the original biker chic shown in the two nostalgic signs below.
